Lady Mustangs Drop Season Opener To Philander Smith

            Conway, Ark. – Opening the season with an opponent they haven't faced in 11 years, Central Baptist College women's basketball hosted the Philander Smith Panthers tonight in front of a packed A.R. Reddin Fieldhouse. CBC (0-1) got off to a slow start and never recovered, dropping the contest to PSU (1-0) by a score of 86-58.

            Anslee Ballew led the Lady Mustangs with 17 points in her debut and Raigan Head chipped in with 15. Lexi Duck had a team-high eight rebounds in her debut and Cammi Christie handed out a team-high five assists in her debut. The key stats in the game were turnovers, which saw CBC lose 32-15 and points in the paint where the Lady Mustangs were outscored 64-12 despite winning the three-point shooting category 10-2.

            CBC is back home on Saturday for a contest against the Blue Mountain Christian Toppers. Tipoff from Reddin Fieldhouse is scheduled for 1 p.m.
