#MustangsWIn! CBC Captures First Win Over Louisiana Christian

            Conway, Ark. – Playing their third straight home game to open the season, Central Baptist College women's basketball hosted the Wildcats of Louisiana Christian University this afternoon at A.R. Reddin Fieldhouse. CBC (1-2) raced out to a 21-9 first quarter lead and maintained the rest of the way, beating LCU (0-2) 84-73 in the first meeting ever between the two schools.

            Raigan Head led the way with 23 points and recorded her first double-double of the season, grabbing a team-high 10 rebounds. Addison Hudspeth added 20 to go with seven rebounds and six assists, Lexi Duck had 19, 10 (for her first career double-double) and five blocked shots and Cammi Christie had 15 points, six assists and five rebounds. Free throw shooting and turnovers were the key stats as CBC went 23-26 at the stripe with 23 turnovers while LCU went 10-20 with 27 turnovers.

GAME FLOW

            CBC led the whole way, racing out to a 10-0 lead and pushed it to 17-2 with 5:21 left in the quarter before settling at 21-9 after one. After both teams scored 21 points in the second quarter, the Mustangs led 42-30 at the break. CBC saw the lead dwindle to eight with 5:20 left in the third, but back-to-back threes and a layup pushed the lead back to double figures and stretched to 20 late in the fourth quarter before settling on the final score.

            CBC heads to the Jack Stephens Center on Monday night for an exhibition game against the Little Rock Trojans. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
