#LadyMustangsWin! CBC Overcomes Halftime Deficit To Beat Hannibal!

Hannibal, Mo. – Coming off an overtime loss less than 48 hours before, Central Baptist College women's basketball took on the Hannibal-LaGrange University Trojans this afternoon at the Mabee Sports Complex. CBC (5-7, 2-2 AMC) overcame a four-point halftime deficit to beat HLGU (3-10, 0-4 AMC) 72-69.
Cammi Christie led the way with 19 points while Addison Hudspeth collected her second straight double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds and Anslee Ballew added 16 points. CBC won the game both from three where they were plus-nine points and at the free throw line where they were plus-10.
GAME FLOW
The game featured four ties and 11 lead changes, with most of those coming in the second half. HLGU led 13-12 after a quarter and 32-28 at halftime. CBC grabbed their first lead of the second half at 43-42 with 3:29 to go in the third but still trailed 50-49 after three quarters. HLG scored the first two points of the final quarter to push the deficit to three before Hudspeth went on her own 6-2 run to put CBC up 55-54 with 7:28 to play. A pair of free throws by Ballew with seven minutes left stretched the lead to three and the Lady Mustangs were able to lead the rest of the way, pulling out to an eight point lead twice before getting a pair of free throws by Whittington to seal the game.
MUSTANG NOTES
- CBC is now 18-6 all-time against the Trojans and have won the last 15 in a row
- The Lady Mustangs won for the first time since last season when trailing at the half
- Hudspeth's double-double was the third of her career
- Christie was the leading scorer for the third time this season
